Follow the Path to Smarter Heating Solutions

Going it alone is always difficult. That's why it's good to know that the HeatSmart Campaign is well-established, with partners from coast to coast. If you decide your community would benefit from a partnership with us, you'll have some good models to follow.

Starting with our first collaboration, where we worked with Keep Maine Warm, we have worked to distribute over 150,000 blankets to needy families throughout the country in our first year. That includes partnerships with public and private organizations in Maine to California. Look below to read about some of these previous efforts. Contact us to further investigate how the HeatSmart Campaign can help you promote energy efficiency in your community.

California. The last place you'd think needed blankets.
California You think it's warm in California, but the truth is that it can snow less than an hour from L.A. Combine that with a huge population and the state's leadership in energy conservation, and it's no surprise that they've been our largest partner to date. Our blankets were part of a package that included a variety of energy efficiency aids, and were distributed to tens of thousands of families. The program was successful in large part because California combined it with an extensive effort to educate families who were taking advantage of the program about living a more efficient lifestyle.

South Carolina. United to make a difference.
South Carolina It's frustrating when it seems a large organization like out government is slow to act, it can take years for energy efficiency programs to be developed. In South Carolina, a number of community groups were tired of waiting and wanted to do something to help. We worked with those organizations to bring them together and create an efficiency program with a big impact.

Maine. Adding to Success in a Cold Corner of the Country.
Maine The people of Maine have a well-deserved reputation for self-reliance. However, heating prices have gone up so much in recent years that many households were struggling to make ends meet. To help, the state launched Operation Keep ME Warm, as an initiative that began weatherproofing thousands of households a year. The state felt it could supplement this effort by working with the HeatSmart Campaign to encourage efficient behavior at a minimum cost.
